PING EV Privacy Policy

This policy applies to people who visit the PING EV website, use the PING EV app, search for charging stations, contact us, or interact with PING EV through charging operators and related services.

“Charging operator” or “CPO” means a business or organisation that owns, operates or manages EV charging stations.

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Account and contact details: such as your name, mobile number, email address, and account credentials if you create an account.
• Location information: such as your device location when you choose to use location-based features, or a general location inferred from technical information such as your IP address.
• Vehicle information: such as vehicle make, model, battery or connector information, if you provide it.
• Station, reservation and charging information: such as stations viewed, reservation details, charging-session times, energy usage and related service records, where these features are available.
• Payment-related information: such as transaction amount, status, date and a payment reference. Payment details may be handled directly by the relevant payment provider. We do not intend to collect full payment-card details unless a feature clearly explains otherwise.
• Device and usage information: such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, diagnostic logs, and how the Services are used.
• Messages and feedback: information you provide when contacting support, submitting feedback, or reviewing a station.
• Business and station-management information: contact details of charging-operator personnel and operational information from chargers or station-management systems, where applicable.

Please do not send us sensitive personal information unless it is specifically requested for a stated purpose.

We may use information, where relevant to the feature you use, to:

• provide, operate and maintain the Services;
• display charging locations, availability and directions;
• support account creation and management;
• facilitate reservations and charging sessions;
• communicate service updates, confirmations and support responses;
• process or reconcile payments through relevant payment providers;
• operate and support charging-operator or station-management services;
• diagnose errors, maintain security, prevent misuse and investigate suspected fraud;
• understand service usage and improve the Services;
• prepare aggregated statistics about charging demand and station usage; and
• comply with applicable legal obligations or respond to lawful requests.

Where consent is required, we will request it for the relevant activity. You can manage device permissions through your device settings and may opt out of marketing communications where offered.

Location features can help you find charging stations and plan routes.

• We request access to precise device location only when needed for a location-based feature and subject to your device permissions.
• If you do not grant location access, you may still be able to search by entering a place or address, depending on the features available.
• Location information may be sent to a mapping or routing provider when needed to provide map or navigation functionality.
• If you make a reservation or use a charging station through a participating operator, information needed to fulfil that reservation or session may be shared with that operator.
• We may use aggregated information about searches or station usage to understand where charging infrastructure may be useful. We aim to use such statistics in a form that does not identify individual users.

The exact location features available, and whether location is collected while the app is in the background, depend on the app version and the permissions you grant. We will request additional permissions if a feature requires them.

We do not sell personal information as a business model. We may share relevant information in the following circumstances:

• Charging operators: where necessary to support a reservation, charging session, customer service or related transaction.
• Payment providers and financial institutions: to process, verify or reconcile payments.
• Service providers: companies that help provide hosting, maps, messaging, email, analytics, diagnostics, security or other technical services.
• Legal, regulatory and safety purposes: where disclosure is required by applicable law or lawful process, or reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, our rights or the security of the Services.
• Business changes: if the Services or related assets are reorganised, transferred or acquired, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
• At your direction or with your permission: when you ask us to share information or otherwise agree to a specific disclosure.

We aim to limit disclosures to information relevant to the purpose for which it is shared.

Where PING EV supports a charging operator’s station-management systems, some operational data may be processed to provide that service. The charging operator may determine how it uses information about its own customers, stations and charging sessions.

If your question or request concerns information held by a particular charging operator, that operator may need to respond directly. We will provide reasonable assistance where appropriate and where we are able to do so.

The parties’ respective responsibilities may depend on the service used and any applicable agreement.

Some features may rely on third-party services, such as mapping, payment, hosting, messaging, analytics or app-platform services. Those providers may process information under their own privacy terms and practices.

The PING EV website or app may also link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third parties. Please review their privacy policies before providing information to them.

Information may be stored or processed in Pakistan or in other countries, depending on the infrastructure and service providers used for a particular feature. Where third-party providers are involved, their systems may process information in locations different from yours.

We take reasonable steps appropriate to the Services to protect information and to use service providers that maintain suitable safeguards. The specific storage locations and providers may change as the Services develop.

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Services, maintaining relevant records, resolving disputes, protecting the Services and meeting applicable legal obligations.

Retention periods may differ by information type and feature. When information is no longer needed, we may delete it, aggregate it or take reasonable steps to de-identify it, subject to technical limitations and any applicable legal requirements.

The Services are intended for people using EV charging services and related business services, not for children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children. We will publish the updated version on the relevant PING EV website or app page and revise the “Last updated” date.
